Below, you will find all of the components of your K’ilu Kit. You can download the full kit to print below, or access each part individually. You’ll also find all of the audio tracks of your Hanukkah Audio Adventure to play the story.

Listen to Your K’ilu Kit: Hanukkah Audio Adventure

The tracks below will guide you through the Hanukkah story. Listen to the story come to life, act out the journey, sing along with the music, and be part of the adventure. Listen to the Pre-Story Track to get ready. Tracks 1-8 bring the story to life. Play an episode of the story each night of Hanukkah, or enjoy the whole experience at once!

K’ILU KIT: HANUKKAH ADVENTURE (8 TRACK VERSION - 1 EPISODE FOR EACH NIGHT OF HANUKKAH - 3-5 MINUTES EACH)

Instructions for Grownups

Thank you for embarking on the K’ilu Hanukkah Adventure! This interactive audio and play-based experience will help you bring the story of Judah Maccabee to life at home. Before you begin, here is some information to make sure you are ready for the adventure.

The audio experience is divided into 8 episodes, one for each night of Hanukkah. Decide if you want to play a chapter of the story each night before you light the menorah (3-5 minutes each night), or play the whole story as one experience (25 minutes).

YOUR KIT COMES WITH:

Audio tracks that will bring the Hanukkah story to life through music and interactive storytelling.
A story map that you’ll use during the audio adventure.
A Message of Protest to Support Peace and Freedom Sign activity to complete before your adventure begins.
A Cup of Oil Prop to print, cut out, and assemble (you’ll need scissors and some tape).
A set of candle images to print and hang each night of Hanukkah.
A scavenger hunt list to collect items around your house to use during the audio adventure.

GETTING READY.

Before the holiday starts, here are a few things to do with your child to get ready for the adventure:

Set up your Story Space. This should be an open place where you can act out all the parts of the Hanukkah story.
Print out the K’ilu Scavenger Hunt, and collect all of the storytelling props. Put them all together in your Story Space.
Print out your Protest Sign activity sheet, complete it, and attach it to a ruler.
Print out and construct the Cup of Oil prop and Candle images.
Hang up a string near where you are going to play. Each night of Hanukkah, hang up the corresponding Candle from your K’ilu Kit on the string.
Play the audio adventure. Have a device handy to play the audio tracks so that everyone can hear them. You can play one episode each night of Hanukkah before lighting the candles (about 3-5 minutes each), or play the whole story as one experience. The audio adventure runs about 30 minutes long.

Play along with your child. The adventure will require you to play along, act out the story, and use your imagination along with your kid. The experience will be even more memorable for them if they create the adventure with you.
